Abstract:
  • This book provides a complete reference to all Bristol military, civil and experimental aircraft from the Anglo-French Bristol-Zodiac biplance of 1910 until the emergence 60 years later of the Anglo-French Concorde. It includes a synoptic history of the Comapny's early growth and subsequent expansion to become the Filton Division of the British Aircraft Corporation. The design features, construction and operational use of over 100 principal Bristol types are given in considerable detail, with specifications of all variants built and over 50 three-view drawings; all available data and representative drawings are also included of over 80 unbuilt projects. Appendies list contructor's numbers for all aircraft built by Bristol from 1910 to 1970, with destinations and customers, also the many aircraft of bristol design built by other firms, both at home and abroad.
