“Mr Green’s balloon flight from Vauxhall Gardens in 1849. It came down on 94, London Road, Southwark on 25 July 1849. Came down on Westminster Bridge Road, caught on top of roof then went on to Erith Church to land.” The original photograph was burnt during the London Blitz but this is from a copy. Presented by Mr James Cross of St George’s Market, London SE.
